About ECD Remote
Our ECD Remote Team has curated an exciting, developmentally appropriate remote program for your 3-5 year old child which includes:
Short, fun videos in areas of literacy, math, Qur’an, art, physical fitness, and more that are easy to fit in during your busy day. Every video lesson inside ECD Remote is designed to keep young children actively learning. In other words, your child won't be sitting still and watching one long video after another. Instead, your child will be moving, talking, and doing something hands-on with every lesson.
Detailed information for parents to help prepare for lessons
Supplemental activities and printables to expand your child’s understanding and knowledge without screen time
Weekly live zoom sessions with Ms. Saimah that are interactive, educational, and engaging. Your child can actively participate in virtual circle time that will promote listening skills, following directions, and active learning. Live zoom session links will be shared with members upon registration. Our live sessions take place every Friday at 11:00 am EST and last up to 30 minutes.
Our ECD remote program is a great option for parents who want their child to develop important skills necessary for school/Kindergarten readiness. Parents also have the option of watching videos themselves and teaching the content to their child directly.
FAQs
What ages are ECD Remote lessons intended for?
Our lessons are intended for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Whether you’re preparing for Kindergarten or your child is starting preschool, we will curate content based on children’s needs and developmental milestones.
How many days a week is ECD Remote?
You can do as much (or as little) as you want based on your schedule and your child's needs. Lessons are pre-recorded so all you have to do is have materials ready for your child so they can follow along our interactive, hands-on lessons. We'll be regularly adding new content, too, and will create lessons based on childrens' needs and developmental milestones. Parents also have the option to watch the videos and teach the content to their child directly. Live zoom classes meet weekly for 20-30 minutes (more information upon enrollment).
How long is an average video lesson?
Our video lessons can run anywhere from 2 to15 minutes long. We recommend creating and maintaining even a simple schedule with your child so he/she has predictability about what to expect each day. We design each lesson with the idea that your child may wish to explore the processes further through independent play and exploration. We will also provide ideas for how you can extend each lesson to keep the learning going while avoiding additional screen time.
Will the ECD Remote program go with a curriculum that I’m already using?
Yes. Our videos are a great supplement to any curriculum your child is already using at home or school. ECD Remote alone is also a wonderful program by itself.
Will I need to purchase supplies for ECD Remote lessons and activities?
We try our best to come up with lessons that require materials you may already have around your home. However, there will be some supplies that you may need to purchase and we will get you started by mailing a starter package upon enrollment! A list of materials needed are under each video lesson to make prep time easier.
About Annoor Academy’s Early Childhood Program
Annoor Academy is a non-profit, private Islamic school in Knoxville, TN. The school was founded in 1998 by a group of community members who believed that each child deserves an excellent individualized education in a safe, healthy environment, with a focus on Islamic Studies, Qur’an memorization, and Arabic. For more information about our school and campus, please visit www.annoor.org.
Research has shown that the early years in a child’s life - when the human brain is forming - represent a critically important window of opportunity to develop a child’s potential and shape academic, social, and cognitive skills that determine a child’s success in school and in life. Our Early Childhood program, both in-person and remote, emphasizes active and student-centered learning, positive adult-child interactions, and a nurturing learning environment. Our staff offers physical, emotional, and intellectual support, and plan lessons to reflect important learning areas for young children while instilling confidence, competence, and independence.
